Can art exist without sharing it online?

If no one ever saw your work, would you still create it? Why or why not?
Do you think art still has value if it stays completely private, or does it only “become art” when it’s shared with others?

Easy answer, yes I dont draw for other people I draw for me. Creating my ocs is my way of dealing with certin emotions and it's my way of calming down. My zen garden so to speak.ans I think it becomes art when you think its art

This has been happening to me lately, you know? I'm currently suffering from that feeling of "is my art really worth anything if nobody sees it? Because...if nobody sees your art then the word "art" loses its purpose." We are human, whether we like it or not, we simply need to feel heard by other humans, we need external validation whether we want it or not. It's sad to see that algorithms continue to silence and hide you from the rest, always prioritizing the monotonous and repetitive. I see amazing artists every day and they don't even get a single like, but oh! The guy who's copying the most absurd TikTok trend for the 2334th time has millions of likes! That really sucks.

Both questions are valid, but they complement each other. One needs the other. If you don't feel comfortable with your art for yourself, you can share it with others! But if no one loves your art but you do...Then you keep it! The real fear is: "What happens when both don't work?"

You definitely have a valid and intresting points. A fun example would be music if I make a song for myselfe on the piano and never share it its still by definition a song. Same can be said with art. If I paint something and never show it its still a painting.

I share roughly only 1/10th of the art I make, so yes I still make it even though no one sees (or will see) it. I think as long as the artist gets something out of creating the art, it has value.
